Four Ways That Will Help You Deal With Change

Marcin Rzucidlo Life Puzzle Coach Four Ways That Will Help You Deal With Change

The pace of change overtakes that of learning.

Eddie Obeng

Change is ubiquitous and change is fast. Some say that the only constant thing around us is permanent change.

How many big or small things have changed in your life this week only?

How do you handle that?

Well, there are four options:

  1. Ignore change

You can ignore change either by arrogance (“I don’t care and I won’t change”) or by ignorance (“Is there any change?”). Anyway, sooner than later you will find yourself in the middle of the place that you do not want to be. Why? Because everyone else has left.

  1. Embrace change

It is responding to change in a way that you adapt to it. Once you are aware of it, ask yourself the question of what you need to change in yourself (mindset, habits, skills) in order to fit better to new circumstances. First, you will not find yourself in the middle of the place that you do not want to be because everyone else has left. Second, Mr. Darwin proved long ago, that it can be a good strategy to survive. Yes, survive.
  1. Anticipate change

If you want more than survival, you can anticipate change. You can analyze trends and foresee what can happen next. So that you get ready (in terms of mindset, habits, skills) and when the change comes, “you are there before.” Then you do not follow. You lead those that come after you. You lead the Embracers.
  1. Create change

Then, you can create change. It’s when you are not reactive to change (already present when you embrace or coming up when you anticipate), but you are proactive and you shape the reality that is different from the present.

Whether it’s your health, family or career – whichever Life Puzzle piece it is – you have a vision of what you want there. And you make it happen.
